Tom Wyntern - Dahlia Tuber

Tom Wynton would have to be one of my favourite Dahlias. It is a dinner plate Dahlia with large pale-yellow petals tending to pinky mauve on the tips. It has a big heavy flower but strong stems and is stunning as a picked flower.

Dahlias prefer a full sun to part shade location and should be planted out after the risk of frost has passed. With continuous dead heading Dahlias will bloom from summer up until late autumn early winter.

You don’t need to water your Dahlias in after planting, just keep them moist once they start to grow above the ground. Adding a slow-release tomato fertiliser in early summer and some Sulphate of Potash, then a mulch will help get the best of the blooms.
