Hi, we’re Kim and George.
Originally from New Zealand, we settled on our little piece of paradise in Maleny in 2014. The rolling green hills and surrounding dairy farms instantly felt like home and reminded us of where we grew up.
While we’re primarily feijoa farmers, adding flowers to our farm was always part of the dream for me (Kim). Growing dahlias allows us to combine our love of farming with beauty, creativity, and connection.
For any fellow Kiwis missing feijoas, you can find us at malenyfeijoas.au. Our feijoa season usually runs from February through March.
My love of dahlias began in childhood, spending countless hours wandering through my grandmother’s expansive flower gardens. She grew everything from roses and ranunculus to cineraria and so much more, but it was her dahlias that truly captured my heart.
There were endless colours, shapes, and sizes and they were so completely mesmerising.
In 2022, I decided to plant a few dahlias of my own, just to see how they would go. Needless to say, they thrived and that was the beginning of something special. What started as a small experiment quickly turned into a full-blown obsession.
We’re starting small, but we have big dreams for the flower side of our little farm. Follow along on our journey and see where it takes us 🌸
