Helena is a striking medium decorative Dahlia with rich burgundy blooms elegantly tipped with crisp white edges, creating a beautiful contrast and eye-catching detail. A prolific flowerer with a very good vase life, Helena is a fantastic choice for both the garden and cut flower arrangements, adding drama and elegance wherever she’s displayed.
Dahlias prefer a full sun to part shade location and should be planted out after the risk of frost has passed. With continuous dead heading Dahlias will bloom from summer up until late autumn early winter.
You don’t need to water your Dahlias in after planting, just keep them moist once they start to grow above the ground. Adding a slow-release tomato fertiliser in early summer and some Sulphate of Potash, then a mulch will help get the best of the blooms.
